Olumide Olulade, Ph.D.

Post Doctoral Research Fellow

B.Sc. -- University of South Florida, 2004, Electrical Engineering
M.Sc. -- Purdue University, 2006, Electrical and Computer Engineering
Ph.D. -- Purdue University, 2010, Electrical and Computer Engineering

Olumide received his Ph.D. from Purdue University's Electrical and Computer Engineering department in 2010. His dissertation research focused on addressing acoustic noise concerns in auditory functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) experiments, specifically characterizing the interaction of neural responses from desired and un-desired acoustic noise sources, with a view to incorporating these findings into compensatory mathematical models to account for the presence of the interfering scanner noise. A portion of Olumide's dissertation also involved using fMRI to examine how adults with dyslexia process visuo-spatial stimuli differently from typical populations. Olumide joined CSL as a post-doctoral fellow in August, 2010. His research interests include examining the neural development of visual word processing in the ventral stream, and studying the role played by visual magnocellular deficits in dyslexia.
